“You can sit down and imagine, and no one can stop you from doing it, but can you give reality to the imagined state? If you do, yes, a bridge of incidents will appear in your world, and you’ll walk across some series of events leading up to the fulfillment of the imaginal state.”
— Neville Goddard
Most people don’t use their imagination very much. Although it’s always working, most people don’t consciously use it.
Imagination is like a garden — you can either neglect it and weeds will grow, or you can plant and cultivate it to grow exactly what you desire. That’s what Bob Proctor told me, and I’ve come to realize the truth in that myself.
The point is that it’s never stagnant. Bridges of incidents, as Neville describes, are always laying in front of you; either moving you towards your desires, or towards your fears. But you hold the key — your imagination — to decide towards what end result you move.
This is why some people experience a series of “unfortunate” events. And others experience a series of “fortunate” events. Because the mental state they are occupying during that period of time is laying bridges of incidents equivalent to their imagination.
Imagining misfortune is literally creating it. Same with imagining prosperity.
Most people will blame misfortune on luck or circumstance — events supposedly outside of their realm of control.
But, as Neville taught, everything in your world was first conceived in your imagination. Whether consciously or not. So imagination is the secret elixir. You hold the philosopher’s stone. Did you know that?
We are constantly imagining meaning into everything we experience. Every sight, sound, smell, taste, feeling, and thought is automatically matched with a meaning when it hits our subconscious. And most times, this initial impulse of thought-meaning will ignite into an imaginary series of events.
Have you noticed how a simple worry about an unpaid bill can instantly snowball into a devastating series of imaginary events? First you’re thinking about not having the money to pay the bill, then just a moment later you’re in an imaginary alternate reality where you’ve lost your apartment because you cannot pay the rent.
The problem is, most people are simply unaware of this. Most people allow the meaning to be in control, to take flight and transport them to alternate realities of their disliking. Most people think themselves into their misfortune.
“Believe me, everything in your world was first conceived in your imagination. The house you live in, the car you drive, the clothes you wear, as well as your friends, your loved ones, your enemies and the strangers on the street were imagined before externalized. Now it is time to control your human imagination and govern it by love. I urge you to awaken to the discovery that everything you seek in time is contained within you.”
— Neville Goddard
It’s your choice — you can decide to wield your imagination to transport you to alternate realities, where your desires are realized. Do this — imagine yourself into your wishes fulfilled — and your physical reality will follow.
Or you can allow the garden of your imagination to overgrow with weeds. Assuming you are in control of your imagination, and therefore your reality, what do YOU choose?
Reclaiming your imagination takes practice. But an awakened imagination is an awakened reality.
Choose your alternate reality. Imagine it. Live from it. And watch the bridges lay that will lead you directly to it.
